Ghadames City
The city of Ghadames lies south west approe 600 Km of Tripoli, and 17 Km of Tunisia territories and 14 Km of Algeria territories.
This distinguished location in the center of the desert made the city meeting point for caravan commerce roads from Mediterranean Sea to the heart of Africa for many centuries.
Old city of Ghadames:-
In 1986 the Unisco declared that the city is an international heritage for its distinguished vane as traditional human settlement, the city contains more than 1600 building centered around (AEN ELFARES) channeled through its streets to oasis in middle of the city, also its sculptures before the history –Roman archeology- Turkish castle the city present a unique mixer of Islamic Arabic culture value, the city architecture reflects the conformation with the climate and local environment –social value – historical authenticity they used brick to establish unique metrical system for roofed streets which provide a protection from heat and cold, it makes the city .
Road to Ghadames:-
Ghadames is an oasis accessible by roads network from various cities of Libya or Tunisia – Algeria –can be reached by air from Tripoli it is advisable to visitor to come by road to stop and enjoy the ruins site in the cities of (Afran – Alhaj palace – Nalut – Derage).
The city climate a dry hot desert in summer – night cold in winter, the lowest temperature degree in January (10-21) average – the highest degree in August (30 – 40)average, in summer time the temperature reach to 50, with sandy gab lie winds in spring season – and the temperature (3.6 – 6.5) below zero . Between October and March rainfall averaging 36 Cm annually the percentage humidity between (31%– 5%)sunny most the days of the year approximately.
Traditional Industry:-
The city to become famous in old time by its proud traditional industry which included , leather silk – jewels all the work made by women in their own home , and display in the stories in the city and abroad International Ghadames festival :-
Ghadames to become famous by its ammonal festival will besnitualed in October for three days the city turning to a big stage of many activities in more than forty (40) locations in the old city and surrounding among it a traditional industries, music ,dance, food ,mahari races and many more activities zeleated to the city people.
